At Lighthouse, we believe finding community is so much more than just coming on the weekends. Wondering where to start? Here’s a short video with our Pastor of Groups and Teaching, Ryan Doughty, that will point you in the right direction.

Learn about the heartbeat of groups at Lighthouse. We call it Gather to Scatter!

Gather to Scatter

The goal of groups as Lighthouse

The primary goal of LCC gatherings is to prepare and equip us to live purposefully in our sphere of influence. Part of the miracle of grace is that God brings us together from different walks of life to encourage and support each other as He scatters us to live for Him.

G - God's Word
O - Other-Centeredness
A - Authentic Community
L - Love Transformed Life

(1 Peter 2:9-10)

God's Word

As we gather, we learn and experience God’s Word. Through the Word, written (scriptures) and living (Jesus), God changes and shapes our lives. We desire to encourage each other to be obedient
to the truth of the Word.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 1:1-2, James 2:19)

Authentic Community

God’s plan was never for us to do life alone. Our Lighthouse community are the people who “do life” with us, giving us safety and freedom to be real. An important part of being in process is seeing and showing our desperate need for Jesus.

(John 13:34, 1 John 4:9-11, Colossians 3:12-17)

Other-Centeredness

Through two great commandments revealed in Matthew 22 (love God and love others), God invites us to live a life of other-centeredness. Let’s start by asking “How can I serve others” rather than “What can people do for me?” In seeking to put others first, our world view is changed and we  reflect the life-transforming power of the gospel more clearly.

(Matthew 22:37-40, Romans 12:2-5; 15:1-3)

Love Transformed Life

Our lives are transformed as we experience God’s Word in authentic community. It’s here that we are freed from all things that keep us from focusing on Kingdom life. We discover a passion for prayer and a desire to conform through obedience to Christ. Abiding in Him, we look and live more like Jesus daily.

John 15:1-5, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Romans 8:15)
