kom 400x300
Ok, kids! Let's get started on our first journey: ETHIOPIA!

Kids On Mission launches at 4:30pm on Sunday, April 22. Be sure to register below!

Kids On Mission
(KOM) is an online home-based club, for kids K-4th grade. Children grow in Christ as they learn to expand the borders in their lives to include neighborhoods, communities, and the world. The adventure begins when children register for the club, get their passports, and begin a mission journey. Through online instruction and materials, KOM participants learn about the region/country and culture in which the missionary or mission is active. They may view a video showing children, on mission, in that region or do an act of kindness to their teacher or neighbor. KOM kids will participate in service opportunities and real life cultural experiences.

At the end of each eight-week session, KOM kids get to go to Customs Weekend. Before or after services, real missionaries who attend Lighthouse will stamp passports and give kids a souvenir and a new bag tag for the next adventure. Stamps are earned by completing four tasks. Kids can earn additional stamps when they do a mission outreach project with their family. Students having six or more stamps at the end of the KOM year will receive a medal in a ceremony during the next Missions Weekend.

• OUR PURPOSE
Kids On Mission exists to help LCC kids develop a heart for service, love, and outreach. The will learn that through Christ they can make an impact on the Kingdom and encourage others to do the same.
• OUR VISION
Having the heart to serve, love, and reach out to demonstrate Christ's love by showing care and compassion to others.
• OUR GOAL
Each child will earn stamps at the end of mission journeys by completing four activities featuring their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Each journey takes place over a two-month timeframe. Four varying activities need to be completed for each journey. The online platform (everything is available on the Lighthouse website) allows flexibility as to when and in what order the projects are worked on. Your child may spend more time or less time on any one journey, depending on the activities completed.

Because materials are purchased ahead of time, no refunds will be issued after the year has started. Every effort will be made to provide engaging activities that will motivate children to continue through all six journeys.

KOM is an online home-based club. Bi-monthly celebrations of children's efforts will take place at Lighthouse on Saturday before services and Sunday in between services. The dates for Customs Weekends will be posted on the LCC website. Children are encouraged to wear their t-shirts and bring their backpacks along with their passports. During Customs Weekends, kids receive a souvenir, new materials for their next journey, and a passport stamp if they completed all four activities for the previous journey. They will also have the opportunity to meet missionaries from Lighthouse.

Two gatherings of all KOM participants will take place each year at Lighthouse. One gathering is on the Missions Weekend during the Missions Event on Sunday evening. The second gathering is during an all-club service project held at the end of the summer.
