Jesus: Lamb of God

John 1:29-34
August 13-14, 2022
Take Home Truth: As the Lamb of God, our hope lies not in our strength but in His.

What does it mean that Jesus is the Lamb of God?
Behold, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29)

Key Point: Jesus has come to be the "once for all" sacrifice for the brokenness that separates God and humanity.

What difference does it make if Jesus is the Lamb of God?

We can know we are loved.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

We can rest in His love and faithfulness.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light
. (Matthew 11:28–30)

We have hope that HE wins!

Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped. (Revelation 5:11–14)

Where is Jesus inviting us to hope as we see Him as the Lamb of God?

Because relationship with one another is at the core of being a disciple of Christ, we invite you to find community and experience spiritual transformation through LCC’s groups, classes, events, and service opportunities.
