Core Values & Beliefs

We exist to be a Christ-centered community, reaching out every day to make more and better disciples.

Christ-Like Formation

We value true life transformation. We desire to grow in our love for God and others as Christ forms us through all we encounter in life. We know that walking with Christ produces a people transformed from the inside out into the image and likeness of Jesus. (2 Corinthians 3:18, Genesis 1:26, 1 John 3:1-3, Romans 8:29-30, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Colossians 3:10, Galatians 4:19; 5:22)

Community

We value community as a necessary context in which spiritual formation occurs. The church body is a collection of smaller communities. Within these communities, we strive to focus on leading one another to a life transformed by Jesus. (Acts 2:42-45, Hebrews 10:24-25, Galatians 6:2, Romans 12:5; 15:7, 1 Corinthians 12:25-27, James 5:16, Proverbs 27:17, John 15:12, 1 Peter 4:8-11, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)

Be on Mission

We desire to live as people sent by God on mission. We value action empowered by the Holy Spirit as a natural outflow of our faith in Jesus as we seek to express God's love through compassion and justice to neighbors, families, workplaces, cities, and the world around us. We believe that we are all called to full-time ministry, serving Christ in every sphere of life. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 1 Chronicles 16:24, Romans 10:13-15, Isaiah 52:7, Acts 13:47, John 13:35, Luke 10:25-37)

Relationship with God

We desire for every person to experience the power and beauty of an intimate personal relationship with God. Our goal is to continue to grow in our understanding of what it means to seek God through genuine and meaningful communion, both corporately and personally. (James 5:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Psalm 23:1-6; 27:4, Matthew 7:21-23)

Jesus in the Home

We desire to see our HOMES as settings in which discipleship is put into practice. While the church plays a role in teaching, resourcing, and serving God’s people, we are each invited to live as apprentices of Jesus in our homes. Marriage, children, parents, and friendships also provide settings in which we can experience deep, lasting transformation in Christ. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 5:22-6:4)

We believe

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God.

    2 Timothy 3:16-17

    2 Peter 1:19-21

  • God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    Genesis 1:26

    Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19

  • People are created in the image of God, but as a result of sin, we are powerless to save ourselves.

  • We believe that the only hope for people is to believe in Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God, who died to take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of mankind. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Through receiving Jesus as Lord, we are made spiritually alive. This begins a relationship with the living Savior.

    John 1:12, 3:3-7, 5:24

    Ephesians 2:8-10

    Hebrews 9:11-28

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, the eternal conscious existence of all people either in heaven or hell, and in divine judgements, rewards and punishments. Jesus Christ will return to Earth in person with power and glory.

    John 5:29

    2 Corinthians 5:6-10

    2 John 8

  • The Holy Spirit indwells those who have received Christ for the purpose of enabling them to live righteous and godly lives. Both the gifts and fruits of the Spirit are a continuing part of God's plan for His Church. God's will is for each believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

    Galatians 3:2, 5:22

    1 Corinthians 12:4-11

    Ephesians 4:7-12, 5:18

  • The Church is the body of Christ composed of all those who, through belief in Christ, have been spiritually regenerated by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The mission of the Church is worldwide evangelism as well as the nurture and discipling of Christians. We practice the ordinances of baptism and communion.

    Matthew 26:26-30, 28:18-20

    Mark 16:15

    Romans 6:3-4
