Human beings are formed from the inside out. Throughout Scripture, God reveals that we are created with an inner life—a heart, mind, and spirit—that is not only real, but central to who we are becoming. This class, The Inner Life, explores how the Bible describes this hidden but essential part of our humanity and why nurturing it is equal to, if not more important than, managing our outward circumstances, behaviors, and roles.
Each week we will consider how our inner life is constantly being shaped, influenced, and formed, either toward Christ or away from Him. We will study biblical portraits of the heart, examine the renewing of the mind, and reflect on the work of the Holy Spirit who transforms us from within. Together we will learn how cultivating the inner life sets the trajectory for our character, relationships, decisions, and spiritual maturity.
A portion of each session will be devoted to guided spiritual practices, especially prayer, silence, and reflection. These disciplines are meant to help us slow down, become more attentive to the presence of God, and open our inner life to His healing, wisdom, and transforming grace.
Our aim is not simply to gain information but to develop a richer, more active awareness of God that shapes how we live, love, and follow Jesus.
By the end of this class, participants will have a deeper understanding of how God designed their inner life, greater language for what is happening within them, and practical tools to cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work in their everyday formation.Wednesdays 6:30-8:00pm
