In Mark 12:29-31, Jesus proclaims the greatest commandment.

· What are the two parts to this commandment?

· Why is it impossible to truly do the second part without the first part?

Going Deeper
I Corinthians 13:4-7 describes in action terms the love we are to have towards others.

Love is patient, kind, not envious, not boastful, not arrogant, not rude, does not insist on its own way, not irritable, not resentful, does not rejoice at wrongdoing, rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

How many of these 15 qualities of love do you readily see in your life towards others? (If your group is comfortable, have each person share how many.)

· What is one of these qualities that you particularly struggle with?
· Is there one or two people that quickly comes to mind that you have a hard time demonstrating the qualities of God’s love?

1) How does how we interact with the world reflect our hearts? Do we like what we see?
2) How do we define joyful? Is it times when we are doing what we want to? What does the Bible say about joy and what it means to be joyful?

Close in a time of prayer especially focused on that person or persons God brought to your mind and how He might have you demonstrate His love toward them.
