Step By Step Christmas Celebration

Founded in 1997, Step By Step's mission is to mentor, guide, and connect women to community members and resources that support a healthy pregnancy and successful parenting.

One of the ways Step By Step accomplishes their mission is through its annual Christmas celebration. During this event, an estimated 300 Puget Sound families are invited to enjoy a wonderful meal, participate in several family-centered activities, and leave with a gift bag and life-changing memories.

Lighthouse is hosting the Step By Step Christmas Celebration again this year on Sunday, December 8. Check out all the ways you can get involved by volunteering or donating.

  • We will host approximately 300 Step By Step families at the Christmas Celebration this year. Thank you for helping our coordinators by following the links below to get details and signing up to donate.

    GROCERY GIFT CARDS Donate a grocery gift card ($25 or $50) to be included in gift bags for Step by Step families. Cards may be for Walmart, Safeway, Fred Meyer, or Winco. Please deliver your grocery gift card(s) to the LCC office before Monday, December 2.
    Donate money online toward cards. Be sure to designate your gift to SBS grocery gift card.

    SUGAR COOKIES Bake or donate fresh store-bought UNDECORATED sugar cookies. We need 75 dozen. Please deliver your cookies to the LCC main floor kitchen (Building 1) by Monday, December 2.

    FROSTING We need 70 tubs (16 oz.) of store-bought frosting. Christmas colors preferred. Please deliver your tubs of frosting to the LCC office before Monday, December 2.

    SPRINKLES
    We need 75 containers (2 oz.) of decorative edible sprinkles. Christmas colors preferred. Please deliver your containers of sprinkles to the LCC office before Monday, December 2.

    GINGERBREAD HOUSE KITS Donate a gingerbread house kit to be included in gift bags for Step by Step families. We need 300 kits. Please deliver your gingerbread kit to the LCC office by Monday, December 2.

    CASH FOR DINNER ITEMS Each Step By Step family will share a holiday dinner together during the Christmas Celebration. We will serve approximately 1,000 people during this Step By Step event. Donations of any amount will be accepted. When donating, be sure to designate your gift: SBS food.

  • SET-UP TEAM Assignments could include setting up decor, chair mazes, dining room, etc.

  • Please note that the volunteer opportunities below require you to be present DURING THE EVENT on Sunday, December 8 from about 3:45pm-8:00pm. Follow the links below to get details and sign up to volunteer.

    FAMILY HOSTS Team up with guest families throughout the night. Sign up to be a family host.

    VOLUNTEER CARE Deliver water, run supplies, and/or give breaks to volunteers who might need it.

    CAROLING TEAM Four people to assemble and lead a group of three to five people each to sing Christmas carols during the event. You pick your team members AND your songs!

    KID/PARENT WANDERING FUN Four kid/parent teams. The kiddo (6-10 years) will wear a provided inflatable costume while their parent leads them around, handing out provided candy and stickers.
